I hope you and your loved ones are all keeping well. It is hard to believe that it is more than ten weeks since the UK went into lockdown causing unprecedented upheaval to all of our family and work lives.
I thank you all for your support in transitioning to online lessons for our students and how amazing it is to see just how well all of them have adapted. I also wanted to update you regarding the availability of LAMDA exams and our at home lessons.
Examinations
We have been in touch with LAMDA are we are waiting to hear when online exams will be open for new public centre applicants such as your son or daughter. LAMDA say that they hope to have some good news for us soon.
We will continue to closely monitor LAMDA’s communications and keep you updated as soon as we have more news.
Exams play an important role for our students’ providing an opportunity to share their work, and achieve a qualification. However it is not just a qualification that students get from LAMDA lessons. Each lesson builds our students’ confidence, inspiring and empowering them to find their voice. We’ve also been thrilled to hear how our students’ weekly lessons have been playing such an important part in maintaining a sense of routine, giving them focus and something to look forward to throughout this difficult period.
Home lessons
The government’s current guidance is that everyone who can work from home should continue to do so. TFL also strongly advise to avoid public transport wherever possible, so our lessons for students who formerly had lessons at home will remain online until further notice. This is to protect our students, their family and our tutors and we will only recommend a move back to home lessons when it is safe to do so.
Once again, I would like to thank you for your ongoing support. As a small business with a small dedicated team of freelancers, I am pleased that we have managed to keep offering all of them work and are able to continue offering your children LAMDA lessons (and all the benefits they bring) throughout this challenging times.
